Found this old video from college back in South Carolina. Just a premed student and a chemistry professor, jamming out on the duduks. If I remember right, Dr. Goodwin had just gotten back from a research exchange in Armenia, we were in his office talking about it, and then next thing you know...

If this is your first time here, welcome! If you've been to my website before, you'll notice that the design has changed! I'm reworking the layout so I can incorporate some of my own artwork into the pages. For instance, the sketch to the right came out during a slow afternoon at the hospital a few years ago. It's based on a cucifixion pose common in Byzantine artwork from the 10th century A.D. (I love art history, can you tell?) Soon you'll find sketches of incidents from the Bible as well as from the lives and legends of the first missionaries and monks to set foot in Ireland and Scotland more than 1500 years ago!

But you're probably here because of the music. I play Celtic music (mostly Irish) on real traditional instruments like the Irish uilleann bagpipes and the tinwhistle. The Lutheran Ceili Orchestra adds a fantastic fiddler in Gloria Schroeder and a bodhran played by my wife, Mel. For more on that, check out the TLCO page, which will be added soon.

I like to combine Lutheran Hymns with old Celtic tunes. For that reason, I play mostly at churches, but I'm open to playing anywhere. Use the CONTACT button to the right if you'd like to reach me!

So check back often. Soon, hopefully, you'll find an expanding collection of my artwork here as well information on the musical instruments, sound and video samples, sheetmusic, and info on The Lutheran Ceili Orchestra's up-coming CD!
